Gold Make Up

I love gold make up on all kinds of skin and it makes you look fortune.  It also ads some warmth to your look. Gold makeup is not something you would see so much on the streets, but it’s a big trend on the catwalk. And I found some really good rules from the daily mail.

Rule 1
‘The first is to decide where you are going to wear it before you start applying it,’ says Ariane. ‘I recommend you only ever wear gold in one or two areas – say, on your eyes and shoulders, or just on your lips. More than that tends to look tacky.’

Rule 2
The second rule is choose the right gold for you: ‘The paler your skin, the paler the shade of gold you should choose,’ she says.

Rule 3
The third is never to wear gold with other frosted or shimmery makeup colours: ‘Too much glitter never looks good – on anyone. Finally, if you are over 35, apply less gold with a lot of care.

‘Anything glittery tends to collect in fine lines and wrinkles, so avoid applying it to areas where that might happen. Forget eyelids and cheekbones, but don’t be afraid to apply gold to brow bones, lips and body.’

If you still can’t imagine gold working for you, the appropriately-named make-up artist Mandy Gold suggests that beginners should experiment with a gilt cream eye colour or face highlighter first.

Golden eyes
‘Cream colours are really versatile and can be applied and blended really easily with the fingers,’ she says. She suggests you add a fine wash of creamy gold to your brow bone, just below the eyebrows to ‘open up’ your eyes.

Golden lips
Alternatively, dab a little gold over a red lipstick to give yourself a really full pout. If you like a less subtle look, try experimenting with gold powder colour.

Golden hands
Hands are one place that everyone can wear gold with confidence, as it’s a colour that looks good on both long and short nails.

‘You can paint nails molten gold, cover your usual nail colour with a clear, glittery polish, or top dark-red or dark-brown nails with a gold French manicure-style tip if you have a steady hand,’ says Ariane Poole.

Mandy Gold says that gilding the lily doesn’t have to be expensive, either. ‘A pot of cheap, gold glitter powder shadow and a bit of imagination is all you really need to add sparkle to your looks,’ she says.

‘You can use the powder neat, as an eye colour or dusted on as a body glitter. Mix it with a little clear gloss to apply over lipstick or dust it over wet, clear nail polish to put a bit of sparkle on your fingertips.

‘Or why not mix a bit of powder glitter with a dollop of your favourite body moisturiser to give your skin an all-over golden glow.’
